Experts in Sciatica Correction
5 Reasons We See Consistent Results & Fast Resolution to Sciatica
-
We look for & Correct the Cause The majority of sciatica is driven by a faulty intervertebral disc which is a manifestation of poor biomechanics. The focus of Chiropractic is the mechanics of the spine. A system with sound analysis principles carefully looking for every criteria defining a mechanical problem of the spine is paramount to knowing exactly where correction is required. You have to be in the exact spot.
-
Sound Knowledge of Mechanisms of Injury
-
Precision adjustment not random Manipulation - Carefully, controlled force is required to improve bone in joint position, restoring proper biomechanics & facilitate healing of disrupted disc material affecting exiting branches of the sciatic nerve.
-
Experts in Sciatica - We have a strong focus on Sciatica in our practice.
-
Strategic Advice on Sciatica - has us aware of exactly what to advise you on to protect the vulnerable region so as to maximise healing time without compromise. Advice is instructional on sitting, standing & sleeping positions, what to avoid & what exercises to focus on after correction
-
Knowing when to leave you alone - healing is a massive part of your progress. Our job is to create the right environment so you can heal. Everything else is therapy. We are not therapists, nor are we healers. We are corrective technicians.
Two Most Common & Overlooked Faults We See in Practice Behind Majority Of Disc Trouble & Associated Sciatica
There are two succinct mechanical issues we find are responsible for the majority (85%) of disc problems and related sciatica.
- Rotated Sacrum -The first is the situation of the rotated sacrum or tailbone. The most common initial mechanism of injury is a lift & twist or a fall contacting the opposing side of the sacrum. This misalignment generates stress force to the disc above & torsion to its fibres, leading to weakening, cracking & bulge or herniation.
- Posterior Sacrum -The second most common perpetrator is the posteriorly misaligned sacrum. The base directly beneath the lumbar disc is locked backward, leading to posterior disc stress and subsequent trouble. A direct fall to the sacrum is the most likely mechanism of injury.
The disc cannot heal properly in the presence of these issues.
More on Sciatica
- Sciatica has a cause. To solve the problem, the environment has to be right for the nerve to heal. In most case the nerve has been compromised by one of the lower lumbar intervertebral discs. To resolve this issue without surgery, the cause for the demise of the disc needs to be corrected.
- Most therapy is aimed at secondary phenomena such as inflammation, tight muscles, reducing disc pressure through traction devices, exercise, medication, cortisone shots, epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radio frequency denervation (deadening the nerve) then surgery. Therapy produces gradual and transient relief, meaning it isn't lasting and requires repetition, just like a drug effect that wears off. Cause focused correction is vastly different, ultimatley creating the right environment for healing to occur.
- Correction, on the other hand, follows detection of the cause and creates the normal environment for the damaged structures to mend.
- Majority of Sciatica involves the disc and disc pathology follows a mechanical problem carried in the spine. Mechanical means something in the mechanical chain of the spine isn't working properly.
- Sciatica can be an excruciatingly painful condition and extremely debilitating. If you are tired of ongoing therapy and are at your wits end, please read on before watching a real case in our practice , demonstrating how we find and correct the cause of sciatica for this patient.
- We are experts in correcting the problem driving majority of Sciatic pain and pride ourselves on fast, incredible results, through the careful and detailed care we provide.
- If the problem is not one for us, our detailed and thorough exam will identify this and referral to another provider is actioned.
- Sciatica can be extremely debilitating and if you are on this page you or someone you care about is experiencing pain to a varying degree of intensity, travelling along the pathway of the Sciatic nerve. Pain can run from the lower back, traverse the pelvis into the gluteal musculature. From here, it can vary in its course either moving into the lateral thigh or migrating to the back of the thigh to the knee and in more severe cases it will make its way into the calf, outside of the lower leg to the feet & toes. The character of pain can also vary from dull ache to sharp, shooting or lancinating pain. Paraesthesia or nerve pain may involve, pins & needles, numbness and or tingling.
